Research On Southwest Multinational Drug Crime

Transnational crimes, especially multinational drug crimes, are increasing serious since 1980s, which is a huge threat to the international society. Due to being contiguous to The Golden Triangle, politic unrest in the adjacent countries and backward economy, multinational drug crimes become a growing problem in the southwest of China, which is characterized by the consistent growth in illegal import of drugs, most from our neighbors like Vietnam and Burma, organized crime system, hidden and modern crime operations. Trafficking of multinational drugs feature hiding, intelligence, organization and combination of guns and drugs. Under this background, on the one hand anti-drugs laws should be taken as a main weapon to fight the multinational drug crimes in the southwest of China. On the other hand economic means are also necessary such as promoting local economic structure; adjust of industry structure and developing the economy with regional characteristics which mean to improve the material and immaterial standard of living of local people. That is the essential way to solve the drug crime problem. Meanwhile, international and regional cooperation against multinational drug crimes should be constructed. Also the publicity and education works and the power of anti-drugs should be strengthened. Only in this way can the serious trend of multinational drug crimes be stop to contribute to construct a "no drug" society.Researches about relevant issues are comparatively little after the new anti-drugs law was enacted, so it is very significant to the theoretical research and practical applications that we research countermeasures to the multinational drug crimes after the insight of southwest of China.This article expound mainly from 4 parts to research the multinational drug crimes.The first part is mainly about basic understanding of multinational drug crimes, including the explanation about the definition of drug crimes and multinational drug crimes.The second part is mainly about current situation and particularity of multinational drug crimes in southwest of China. In this part, several typical cases in recent 10 years are analyzed to ensure the particularity of multinational drug crimes in this area and the reason of the long-term problem.The third part is mainly about the analysis of geographic factor, regional situation and economic situation to confirm the reason of multinational drug crimes.The final part discussed the countermeasures against multinational drug crimes after all above.
