A Research Of Pension Demand And Pattern Among Urban Elderly People

Since ancient times, there has been a fine tradition of respect,love and support for the elderly in China,family pension has been continued as the main way of pension.However, since our country enter the aging society in 2000, older people is growing rapidly, family pension function be weakened gradually,so,aging population problem is not just family problem, but a social problem. and social pension service also is not very perfect, where our country pension will to go?In such an era and realistic background, the research of the elderly pension demand and model preference, building a suitable pension pattern and a powerful social support network,are having vital significance to improve the lives of the elderly and enrich the elder’s spiritual and cultural life.First,this article investigates the elder’s basic living conditions from five aspects material status; health;family life;other living conditions and subjective feeling.On this basis,investigates and study the life needs, health care needs and spiritual needs of older using hierarchy theory of needs,and summarizes the factor of pension demand from two aspects of individual and social.Again,the paper analyzes the elderly tendency for community pension,family pension and institution pension one by one,summarize the several typical reasons of choosing different pension patterns in open interview,and analyze the factors of choosing different pension pattern.Finally, analyzes the reasons and principles of pension pattern choosing, as well as the existing different pension patterns’advantages and disadvantages respectively, and puts forward that only on the basis of a combination of pension patterns and complementing each other to construct diversified and multi-level pension pattern that can satisfy the increasing of the elderly pension demand.Constructing the pluralistic pension patterns need, the social support system include formal support and informal support.
