Research On Altruistic Behaviors And Their Nurture In Moral Realm

Altruistic behaviors in moral realm are positive moral phenomena. They can improve interpersonal relationship, accommodate human values, and enhance social moral ethos, which is conducive to the building of socialistic harmonious society. Given these considered, more concern and research about moral altruistic behavior is needed, and analysis of its content and promotion of its nurture prove especially important. Altruistic behaviors in moral realm are altruistic behaviors enforce by agents from their moral motivation. According to different criteria, moral altruistic behaviors can be divided into two categories, which are constant altruistic behaviors and occasional altruistic behaviors, or pure altruistic behaviors and impure altruistic behaviors, or altruistic behaviors aimed at specific groups and altruistic behaviors aimed at unspecific groups. The significance of moral altruistic behaviors lies in their benefits to the enhancement of individual personality, the coordination of interpersonal relationship and the promotion of harmonious development of the society. Altruistic behaviors have different appearances in different occasions: boldly doing what is righteous is altruistic behavior in danger; charity is altruistic behavior in public activities; helping for fun is altruistic behavior in ordinary social communication; public appeal is altruistic behavior in media. Society, culture and individuals are three major influential elements in the nurture of altruistic behaviors. The way to nurture moral altruistic behaviors can be found out in four aspects, namely, family education, school education, social education, and self-education.
