Russia In The Ukrainian Crisis Strategic Adjustment Research

After the end of the cold war,the western countries keep repressing Russia and compressing the living space of Russia by the the European EU and NATO’s eastward expansion.There are western factors in Ukrainian Crisis,too.In order to prevent Ukraine’s domestic threat to Russia’s black sea fleet and Russian people,Russia sent troops to recover the Crimean and aid the pro-Russia forces in the eastern part of Ukraine.Ukrainian crisis and western sanctions have a bad influence on Russia.Economic fluctuations affect the domestic political stability.The crisis also blocked the establishment of Eurasian union and crisis worsened the peripheral security environment.Besides that,Russia’s economic is declining a lot and Russia’s national image has been damaged.Russia is also isolated by the western countries and the eastern European countries get close to the western countries.In response to the crisis,Russia has made many adjustments including politics,economy,diplomacy.The political strategy is to promote the establishment of the Eurasian union and the military equipment upgrades,pressure on the government of Ukraine.The economic strategy is to speed up the economic transformation, adjust energy strategy and response to western sanctions.The diplomatic strategy is to implement the Eastward Strategy and combine with the emerging countries,strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership with China.
