With the development of the society, more and more voluntary service programs appeared in the college. These voluntary service programs are established for the purpose of making the society more justice and making our world more friendly. The programs help the groups which are in needed to live a better life. At the same time, the student volunteers, as the principal members of these projects, will also get personal growth. In the “X” voluntary service program, the student volunteers will accompany the migrant teenagers for one year, and they will help the teenagers obtain academic improvement. In the past three years, this program has made some achievements. However, this program is a hard work for student volunteers, because it has a long service period and the migrant teenagers have complicated problems. The self-efficacy theory is a theory to measure the extent of individual’s self-confidence to finish the task. People with high self-efficacy level will have more confidence to solve problems. Volunteers with high self-efficacy level will be more confident and take more positive ways to get along with migrant teenagers. Improving self-efficacy is conducive to volunteers’ capability development. Therefore, the author hopes to know whether the experience of voluntary service helps improve the volunteers’ self-efficacy. The study uses both quantitative research and qualitative research methods, and targets the volunteers as the research object. Based on the research materials gotten from the questionnaire and depth interview, the study will explore the volunteering experience and the effect factors of volunteers’ self-efficacy. The study found that the student volunteers’ self-efficacy shows a downward trend with time going on. There are several reasons. First, the student volunteers have less social experience and are not professional enough to deal with the migrant teenagers’ complicated problems. Second, there are some problems in the program’s management. Based on the situation, the study will put forward the following suggestions:(1)attract more adults to participate in the project, especially people who have more resources,(2) take more scientific methods to match volunteers and teenagers,(3) provide professional training to the college student volunteers,(4) set up complete and systematic supervision with explicit duties and responsibilities, strengthen the management and evaluation of the supervisors,(5) set up online communication platform for volunteers,(6) take different ways to promote the volunteers’ welfare.
