Research On Sustainability Of Volunteer Participation In Voluntary Service In Dongguan City

Voluntary service is one of the important means to build a new era of social governance pattern of co-construction,co-governance and sharing.With the development and growth of voluntary service in China in the past two decades,people's awareness of volunteering has gradually increased,volunteers has also reached an unprecedented scale,and voluntary service projects have developed into various forms.At the same time,voluntary service is also facing the problems of the continuous development of voluntary service,such as lossing volunteers and the voluntary service projects had been interrupted.Among these problems,the author believes that volunteers are the key factor for the sustainable development of voluntary service,and how to retain volunteers and attract new volunteers are keys to solved these problems.Although there are more and more scholars studying voluntary service in our country at present,they had paid more attention to the study of voluntary service function and volunteer motivation.There are not enough studies on the sustainable development of voluntary service.There are few studies on how to retain volunteers,activate volunteers and attract volunteers.The author believes that we want to retain volunteers,activate volunteers and attract volunteers.In order to solve these goals,we need to focus on finding out the factors which affect volunteers' participation in voluntary service,and provide theoretical basis for solving these problems.By referring to the research on the influencing factors of voluntary service at home and abroad,the author puts forward the influencing factors of volunteer's continuous participation in voluntary service in Dongguan City:the collection of independent variables in three dimensions:volunteer's personal characteristics,the relationship between individual and organization,motivation satisfaction,etc..The author had collected datas through multiple channels,and used multiple regression analysis to verify the above-mentioned influencing factors and voluntary service,and found that most of the factors have statistical significance.Among them,independent variables such as volunteer's personal characteristics(gender,age,occupation,political outlook),personal and personal and organizational relationships(family support,team membership,government's role in voluntary service,volunteer association's role in voluntary service),motivation satisfaction(vocational or academic help,knowledge or ability improvement and self-realization)are important influencing factors that influence volunteers'participation in voluntary service in Dongguan City.While the independent variables such as educational background,working hours and attitudes of service objects in personal and organizational relationships have weaker impact on volunteers'continuous participation in voluntary service in Dongguan City.Finally,according to the results of the hypothesis verification,the author puts forward some suggestions on the sustainable development of volunteers' participation in Dongguan City,such as fostering stronger volunteerism,initiating family voluntary service projects,emphasizing the establishment and maintenance of team membership relations,facing up to the role of government and volunteer associations.
