On The Classes Different Wishes Of Pension In The Urban Residents

Based on the Bourdieu’s class theory, this paper does some work on the selection mode of urban residents’pension between different classes. On the basis of interviews in three communities in Nanyang city Henan province, they are Nanyang Normal University community, the 2rd Film Factory community, the Huaxia commuty. The study tries to empirically analyze the willingness of the choice of pension in urban residents. Through the investigation some conclusion can be drawn. It is an objective reality that different classes have different choices about the pension manner. Elderly people in Nanyang Normal University, who have relative high income, the quality of life requirement are the most important goal. They can accept nanny and service agencies which reduce the dependence of their children, resulting in the concept of the traditional pension gradually fade. Home care will be a major pension way. However the 2rd Film Factory residents who have solid income but will be weak if any accident, resulting in home care still dominated, but tends to be more diverse in the choice of pension. Compare with the university community, they prefer to accept the pension institutions. As the poor housing conditions due to economic conditions, the future pension life of the Huaxia community residents may be with more uncertainty. They are more weighted in child support to be their choice. Moreover, National policy, community service, family intergenerational relationship, resource feedback flow type between intergenerational have a profound impact on the elderly pension demand. Therefore, with the economic system reform and the constant improvement of the social security system, something must be done. For the happiness and welfare of the elderly we should strengthen the construction of pension security system and the community service to different sectors or classes of the elderly.
