Since the reform and opening- up, the Party Central Committee and the State Council had attached great importance to personnel training of Xinjiang, and had held a series of measures in the Mainland universities like Xinjiang ethnic classes, preparatory classes etc. And achieved remarkable results. But on the whole, in terms of talented people Xinjiang has a series of problems including the lack of highly educated people, the structure is not reasonable etc.. In 1999, "western development" project started, its main goal is to promote the Xinjiang region’s economic and social development, so as to narrow the development gap between the western and the eastern. "The implementation of the western development project" significantly made the problem of talents shortage more outstanding in Xinjiang. In this context, the Party Central Committee and the State Council decided to establish the Xinjiang high school classes in the mainland part of the economic developed city, enjoy the high quality education resources in order to achieve the goal of training more reserved talents for Xinjiang region.This paper tries to study the current status of Xinjiang high school classes in the mainland from three aspects including the personnel quantity, quality and structure, to reflect the effectiveness of Xinjiang high school classes in the progress of cultivating of reserved talents for Xinjiang, find problems, and further explore how to improve the minority reserved personnel training work.
