The central government of China started to appoint new college graduates as the village officials to rural areas in China since 2008, roughly about 6 years ago. According to the latest published data, more than 410,000 college graduates have been appointed to those villages nationally before the end of 2013, where about 220,000 of them already started their job, covering over 1/3 of villages in the entire nation. Undoubtedly, as the most significant labor force flows into rural areas of China, those fresh graduated village officials gradually raised more attention to achieve self career development in the future from a successful serving term in the rural village. The same concern goes to the regulatory department as well as the government. This dissertation depicts and summarizes the fundamental theories and research results on those fresh college graduates who served in the rural villages from numerous related materials, mainly focuses on career development after the serving term. In detail, the essay expresses a better understanding of those candidates from one-to-one interview and researches on relevant documents in the local village offices in Y city. In order to find out the contributing factors to the career satisfaction, the author gathered significant amount of data based on real surveys, and utilized statistic analysis software such as SPSS to identify those factors and their weighted contributions, including peer reviews, work environment, networks and relationships, training, value realization, benefit and salary, social status and career development. With a systematic analysis of the results from the research, the authors stated his comments and thoughts regarding the career development of college village officials, from the perspective of Regulatory Department, local village offices and college village officials themselves. One of the major suggestions includes that the Regulatory Department should provide more career services to those college village officials, either helps them pursue further education after the serving term, or benefit them with potential job opportunities in other related industries and inside government. It also comments on the idea that the local village offices should offer better career plans to attract qualified college village officials to stay after the serving term, help them fit in the local community. In addition, fresh graduates should value more about this opportunity to serve in the village, which helps them better understand themselves and their career goals, as well as the ability and skills they need for future success.
