The world order has changed greatly since the end of cold-war. American has built the hegemony around the world and the rise of emerging countries such as India has formed the political order of “one super power and multi-great powers”. The economy of China developed fast and become the world’s second largest economy. America regard China as the most potential competitor. Adjust the global strategy, promoting national strategic focus from Europe to Asia and the Pacific east and contain China became the most major strategic task in the new century. In August 2003, the establishment of the India-US strategic partnership with global strategic adjustment of the typical product is the United States. In short, the development of US-India relationship is a based on mutual national interests. For America, India is the strongest countries in the south Asia, but an important sea power. India is one of the fastest growing countries in the Asia, and has territorial dispute problem with China. For India, India has an political ambition to be an great power, which has become the national willness. China’s fast developing and the increasing disparity between China and India in national strength has strengthened India’s crisis awareness. India urgently need an strategic framework, to contain China’s development and influence. America take the lead in economy、military and space technology, India want to achieve development and scientific breakthrough by cooperation with America. Undoubtedly, the development of US-India relationship is the short-cut to make the great power ambition come true. However, the US-India relationship is in controversy. What about the future development and influence of US-India relationship? Whether the US-India relationship is intentionally countering China and how China to deal with it? This paper analyses these problems from the perspective of geopolitics and managed to put forwarding ingenious ideas objectivity and reasonably.
