Analysis Of Ma’s Administration ‘Foreign Relations’ Policy

In recent years, the Taiwan leader, Ma Ying-jeou’s policy has great changes compared with the former one. While the ‘foreign relations’ policy implemented by the Taiwan Administration is associated with Reunification of China. Studying Ma ying-jeou Administration’s ‘foreign relations’ policy helps us understand the development and transformation of Taiwan’s ‘foreign relations’ policy, which has important realistic and political significance for grasping the develop trend of Taiwan,promoting the development of “Taiwan towards Reunification of China”, opposing Taiwan’s secession from China. This article aims to evaluate Taiwan’s ‘foreign relations’ policy from the historical to the present stage, find out Mr Ma’s policy changes, analyze its characteristics, forecast its future development and analyze the influences and implications on the mainland’s policy through analyzing the‘foreign relations’ policy shifts.This article found out Taiwan Administration’s ‘foreign relations’ policy reduced the friction, eased cross-strait tense relations, avoided the Taiwan passive isolation in the world to a certain extent. Its characteristics of "pragmatic, flexible and elastic" on foreign aid, adopting the method of "fair and transparent", emphasizing mutual exchanges and cooperation, changing the original relied on money to the policy of‘foreign relations’, promoting the cross-strait peaceful coexistence, has promoted Taiwan’s diplomatic activity in the international community to expand the space. But at the same time, we can see that Ma Ying-jeou Administration’s ‘foreign relations’ policy has obvious limitations when Taiwan Administration makes‘foreign relations’ policy.
