" Advisory Committee" Model Research Of Public Participation In Urban Governance

In resent years, with development of the economic globalization and information process, and with the speeding up of democratization and public participation, the need for interest from citizen in urban has been developed in various and diversified way. The government should attach more importance to management performance,public service, and quality of life. As the core and essence of public governance,public participation in city governance becomes the implied warranty to safeguard citizen’s interests. Hence, it is necessary to do some research on this topic. This thesis takes the case of Guangzhou Tongde Wai integrated renovation as a study example,conducting analysis of the function of counseling supervision committee system,especially of collecting the opinions of the masses, supervising the implementation of the project, coordinating the interests of all parties, and evaluating performance.Based on this, this paper discusses the status and problems of public participation in urban governance, analyze the reasons and proposed countermeasures and suggestions to improve the level of public participation in urban governance.
