| The fundamental driving force for society advance is the people. Improving the qualities of people can be regarded as a criterion to promote the harmonious development of the society. The development of the society will also stimulate the development of comprehensive qualities of people. Woman is an important subject of the society especially in rural area where the population is almost half of the entire population of the country. The comprehensive qualities of women in rural area are closely related to the harmonious development of the society.However, for a long time the development focus has been put on the economic growth and the growth of GDP. The development of people, especially the women in rural area who were in a relatively weak position, has been paid less consideration. The study of women in rural area comparatively seems weak.The focus of this thesis is the current situation, the problems and the solutions for the comprehensive qualities of women in Ouhai rural areas. For their comprehensive qualities, we analyze the general situation, features and reasons. We conduct the investigation via checking the documents, talking with the people in the villages, questionnaires, symposiums. As a result, we find the followings:compared with the women in the town, the rural women in Ouhai area are vulnerable in terms of outside environment and inner awareness. They only get low education levels, and backward ideological conception as well. And they are weak in taking part in and discussing political affairs. To make matters worse, they haven’t got enough self-identity, which were presented by very little consciousness in public services, law affairs and the knowledge about physical and mental health. As is shown above, the current comprehensive qualities of the women in rural area is becoming a big problem. With the reference of the situation of Zhejiang Province, we naturally come to the conclusion that all the indexes in Ouhai is higher than the average of Zhejiang Province, but it is just reflecting the comprehensive quality situations of women in rural areas. Further conclusion is that comprehensive qualities of women in rural area are not totally in accordance with the development level of the society, especially the urbanization process.Based on the investigation, we can put forward the followings:Women in rural area are lack of the chances to get education because of the terrible feudal ideas about preference of boys to girls; The public services are beneath their notice because of their old thoughts about men outside and the women inside; They understand their own rights and obligations insufficiently because of their limited ways to obtain legal knowledge; Self-health care is not put a high premium by them because of their shortage of knowledge about the physical and mental health. Therefore, taking all these factors into consideration, we naturally come to the conclusion that we should put special emphasis on the business below:To improve the rural women’s culture and skills by establishing training models of different forms and levels; To optimize the media environment and change-the traditional thoughts by organizing media campaigns; To enhance their public consciousness by making efforts in the aspects of policy and law. Thus achieving a splendid future:Women can get more education and professional skills and without illiteracy any more; They will have enough self-confidence to talk about sexual equality; They know how to improve their ability to handle the public matters with the help of the policy and law; And they will get more strategies to gain the supports of the public resources. It is expected that what we do can help fulfill the relevant government departments to further enhance the comprehensive qualities of women in rural area. In this way, they will play their roles in the development of new countryside, in the harmonious development of the society. It is hoped that this study can be a reference for the relevant government departments in decision making. |
