The Analysis Of Political Attitude And Political Participation Of Urban And Rural Residents

Democratic politics is the inevitable choice for the development of modern country politics and, citizens’ orderly political participation is the essential requirement of the socialist Democratic politics. It was clearly put forward in the third Plenary Session of the 18 th CPC Central Committee: “Pay more attention to improve the democratic system, enrich the forms of democracy and expand citizens’ orderly political participation at all levels and in all fields.” Grass-roots autonomy system is the important way for citizens’ orderly political participation as well as one of the basic political systems in our country. As the subject of political participation, urban and rural residents reflect an implicit attitude tendency, positive or negative, to the political system in the political activities, which will have the influence on the political participation results. Political attitude is the essence to the political behavior, so we can presume one’s political participation behaviors on the basis of their political attitudes. Therefore, this paper studies the participation attitude and behavior tendency of the village(residents) in the grass-roots autonomy system, so as to know about the current situation of the political development of urban and rural residents in China.The study, based on the sample data which was investigated by China General Social Survey(CGSS) in 2013, using SPSS21.0 to process data systematically, mainly analyses the influential factors of political attitude and political participation, and the effects of political attitude on political participation, through quantitative analysis of the relationship between residents’ political attitude and political participation.The study demonstrates that: in terms of political attitude, overall urban and rural residents perform actively-- in democratic consciousness, the representative democratic consciousness is more than directive democratic consciousness; in rights consciousness, absolute rights consciousness is far more than relative rights consciousness. In terms of political participation, the participation rate of urban and rural residents and, the effects of grass-roots autonomy system all need be further improved and the rate of participation in the fight of urban and rural residents is higher than that in the election. In terms of relevance of political attitude and political participation, both democratic consciousness and rights consciousness have the influence on participation in the election and fight. So that following are specific solutions to above questions: improve democratic consciousness; strengthen rights consciousness; encourage participation in the election and eliminate participation in the fight. In this way, we can develop the current situation of political attitude and political participation of urban and rural residents in China.
