Nececity And Possibility: Social Work In Rural Areas

In recent years, great changes have taken place in China’s rural economic and social structure.The environment presents variable and complex in rural social work. However, in reality, the popularizing rate is low in rural.These factors impede the development of the profession of social work.This paper is based on the survey of one village of Liaoning Province and analyzes the demand and feasibility of social work in contemporary rural China.It aims to push forward the development of social work in China.This paper is based on the survey of a village called Hongmu of Liaoning. It uses Unstructured Interview and Literature review to Launch Case Study and analyze the demand and feasibility of Rural Social Work.And then try to put forward some corresponding policy suggestions.Currently, the status of rural social work exhibits the following characteristics.First of all, in the national development situation, Rural Social Work has been gradually revealed its important role especially in the Socialist harmonious society. But in reality, many problems appears, such as Policy Issues, The elderly,the Children and Relationship problems. Under the constraints of these issues, Development of rural social work shows that social work is lowly Approved and Lack of professionals, support of policy and mechanism.In this paper, the author has carried out detailed field investigation in Hong Mu village.The author interviewed many people in the villagers. The results show that the rural social work need professional social worker very much.The social work professionals is convenient to the rural work and guarantees the stability of the rural work. Secondly, the social work professional knowledge applied widely in rural areas, especially in such aspects as pension, medical, democracy,and party building.Finally,in rural social work,it often involves the identification and welfare,which should be solved first,if we want to promote social work professionals service for rural social work,.only to solve these vital matters,In order to promote social work, this paper tries to put forward some policy suggestions.First of all,we must try to increase publicity of professional social work to improve the public cognition;Then,the rural social management should draw on the social work professionals, and strengthen its management; Besides, we have to adjust the management system of social workers to improve the team construction;The last one is to improve the professional knowledge and social work quality.
