The Research About International Anti-terrorism Cooperation And China’s Strategic Choices

With globalization as the background, there are various new features and tendencies in the development of international terrorism. Therefore, international anti-terrorism cooperation is confronted with new dilemmas and problems. This study aims to figure out how to get out of the dilemmas, promote partnerships between bilateral and multiple parties and explore the methods for China’s participation in international anti-terrorism cooperation. Nowadays the existing studies on international anti-terrorism from scholars at home and abroad are still at the exploratory stage, which are not completely formed theories. What’s more, these studies are mostly concentrating on the individual cases of cooperation from hotspots such as the West leaded by US and the Middle East. The achievements are limited to the descriptions of terrorism events and the experiences from the anti-terrorism, but there has been no substantial breakthrough yet. Besides, a great deal of countries including China are becoming victims of terrorism, making international cooperation the inevitable choice for every country and each international organization.The study design lies in exploring the strategies and methods of China’s participation in international anti-terrorism cooperation on the basis of how to develop the international anti-terrorism cooperation efficiently. Meanwhile, in the framework of related-theories analysis and studies on the status of international terrorism, it also analyzes the realistic and potential threats on China’s national security from terrorism, the development, main forms and the dilemma of international anti-terrorism cooperation. Research methods, such as documentary research and comparative analysis, are used in this study to discuss about the current situation, dilemma and cooperatively built paths of international anti-terrorism cooperation, based on which I analyze China’s strategic choices during the participation in international anti-terrorism cooperation. Terrorism has become ideological, dispersed and caused severer harms. Given these new features, it is becoming more and more necessary to promote partnership in international anti-terrorism cooperation and strengthen China’s active participation in international anti-terrorism cooperation. There is guiding significance in it to stabilize international security situation, improve the anti-terrorism ability and defend China’s general national security.
