During the new-democratic revolution, Chinese women won a great achievement on the way to fighting for political rights. In the women’s liberation of fighting for the rights and status of equality between men and women, the guiding role of Mao Zedong’s thought of women’s participation in politics cannot go unnoticed.Experienced a long historical process of practices, Mao Zedong combined the women’s liberation theory of Marxism with Chinese concrete reality, combined the political demands of women’s pursuit of equality between men and women’s with the patriotism of the Chinese nation strive for independence, combined the importance of women in social production activities with the revolution led by the party,accumulated a large number of theory and practice experience in the women’s political participation, in order to obtain the victory of revolution, the progress of the society and the development of women’s liberation, it has played an important role. At the same time, in order to solve the current problems and difficulties on the road of women’s political participation, it has provided solving ideas, and has a certain theoretical and practical significance for the women’s group in the new era.This article discourses the theoretical origin of women’s thought of participating in politics by analyzing the historical background of Mao Zedong’s thought of supporting women to participate in politics and many former thoughts and practice exploration, and makes a systematic summarization of the process from proposing,forming and being mature of Mao Zedong’s thought of women’s participating in politics.And it makes a theoretical generalization of Mao Zedong’s thought of women’s participating in politics by consolidation, meanwhile, draws a conclusion of historical inevitability of women’s participating in politics in his thought, the role of women’s participating in politics in history and also realization approach for women’s participating in politics. This article holds that no matter from the view of theory or practice, Mao Zedong’s thought of women’s participating in politics has a very high historical value, and it has also provided a valuable experience for guiding contemporary Chinese women to participate in democracy construction and helping the Party to strength and improve the leadership of contemporary Chinese women.
