Corruption is a problem faced by most developing countries in the world. The level of Corruption in Nigeria is devastating:it hinders social development, slows down economic growth, discourages foreign investments, and inhibits the provision of infrastructures and public services etc. it is the biggest obstacle to Nigeria’s development. So it is of both practical and theoretical significance to research how to effectively tackle the issue of corruption in Nigeria. As a developing country, China also faces serious corruption problems. The phenomenon of corruption in China and Nigeria are very similar, but China has achieved more than Nigeria in the fight against corruption, especially recently when China intensifies it war against corruption. Also, Nigerians request that their government should study from the anti corruption of Singapore and China, so as to eradicate the phenomenon of corruption in the country. So it of outmost important that Nigeria should learn from China’s anti-corruption experience. This paper analyzes the situation of corruption in Nigeria. The political leadership classes are the main perpetrators of corruption in country. Nigeria has many forms of corruption, which can be categorized into Political corruption, financial corruption and bureaucratic corruption. The causes of corruption in Nigeria are ineffective political process, the culture of corruption, lack of effective anti-corruption policies etc. Corruption hinders social development, slows down economic growth, discourages foreign investments, inhibits the provision of infrastructures and public services etc., it is the biggest obstacle to Nigeria’s development. This paper also analysis anti-corruption policies in Nigeria:Nigeria anti-corruption policies are well formulated, and play an important role in the fight against corruption, but not effective enough to eliminate the phenomenon of corruption because Nigerian leaders are not too sincere in the war against corruption, and anti-corruption war is used by some political leaders as weapon to hunt political adversaries. Also, the leaders leading the war against corruption war are corrupt. Finally, through the analysis of China’s recent anti-corruption experience, this paper shows how Nigeria could learn from China’s anti-corruption experience: Nigeria should make the war against corruption the country’s top priorities, and ensure its continuity; Nigeria should adopt a zero-tolerance attitude towards corruption, and make full use of its anti-corruption policies to fight against corruption, at the same time, constantly review and improve it’s anti-corruption policies; Equality in the war against corruption is very important, so Nigeria should severely punish according to law, both the high ranked and low ranked officials charged with corruption; In the war against corruption, Nigerian leaders should lead by example; Lastly, Nigeria should make punishment on corruption more rigorous.
