Teachers are the root of making a school powerful. Only constructing a strong group of high-flight faculty can universities realize their leaping-over development. In the course of building teaching staff, as the important component of management of teacher human resource, teachers employment system of universities provides a powerful guarantee for attracting talented people, stimulating the work enthusiasms of teachers. As a result, educational quality will be improved greatly. Excellent teaching staff play vital roles in the first-rate universities and the perfect teachers employment system is a key factor for universities to make full use of best teachers. It is sound teachers employment system of American universities that outstanding teachers can be obtained and quality of education can be guaranteed for a long time. Currently, under the new circumstance of higher education in China, varying level reforms are under way in the aspect of teachers employment system in Chinese universities. So, teachers employment system has been promoted increasingly, which plays a positive part in optimizing the market allocation of human resources, advancing the overall quality of teachers and enhancing systematic reforms of Chinese universities. In the meanwhile, problems, such as administrative intervention, inflexible employment mechanism and so on, arise in the course of operation of employment system of universities. Studying employment system of American universities and use full-considered and reasonable ideas are effective measures to improve teachers employment system of Chinese universities. In view of this, the paper attempts to analyze the characteristics of experience of teachers employment system of American universities to provide some reference for reforms of teachers employment system of Chinese universities.Taking Harvard University for example, the research is based on teachers employment system of American universities. Essence and characteristics of employment system of American universities will be summarized through analyzing employment system of American universities in detail, which will be some of value for Chinese universities. Based on researching history and current situation of employment system of American universities and the case of Harvard, the thesis introduces the features of employment system of American universities and use the advanced experience of American universities.
