College students, as the disseminators of modern culture and new way of life, their waysof life represent the trend of society. Their concepts of marriage and procreation have greatimpact to the era, which have played a demonstrating, guiding and facilitating role on society.To some extent, their concepts of marriage and procreation are the guidance of the behavior ofmarriage and procreation of citizens in our country. The research on the College students’concepts of marriage and procreation is of great importance to study the direction of thecitizens’ concepts of marriage and procreation in our country.With the method of literature study, first of all, the thesis read up and analyzed theprevious literature, so as to understand the domestic and international research status quo onthis issue. In the second place, with the method of questionnaire survey, the thesis conducted aquestionnaire survey on college students of four universities in Hebei Province. At last, usingthe method of quantitative and qualitative, the thesis processed and analyzed the survey datathrough the SPSS17.0, and got the status quo of the concept of marriage and procreation ofthe college students.The result of the study showed that, affected by social environment, needs of their ownas well as the popularity of the network, more and more college students fell in love withothers, and most of them had clear purposes of their love. However, there were also problemssuch as weak sense of responsibility and emotional instability among them, as a result, theyhad to break up. The spouse selection will of college students become more and more rationaland cautious. The most important thing in spouse selection was personality, followed by thefoundation of marriage. Most of them inclined to select spouse by themselves and tended toget married at the age from26to29years old. The vast majority of college students had thewill of having babies and this will become stronger with the rising of their age. The purposeof having children first of all was emotional needs, followed by obligations andresponsibilities. The ideal number of children was two. The first time they wanted to havebabies was before29years of age. Their pension in the future was firstly from personalsavings, followed by the old-age insurance.The author hoped these points can help college students to establish a correct view ofmarriage and procreation, which was not only helpful for college students to build a happyfamily, but also an important basis for social stability.
