The BETC vocational qualifications are the entry licenses for job seeker and it is also the necessary responsibilities for vocational education. Recently, with the economic development and the high requirement of recruitment, the quality assurance of BETC vocational qualifications is gradually attracting more attendance. It is one of the key study points to assure the quality of the qualifications and to improve the attractiveness of the quality of qualifications in the workplace. BTEC vocational qualifications result in remarkable achievement in UK, and it has also been acknowledged worldwide. The aspects of quality assurance of BTEC vocational qualifications could inspire us a lot in practical application.The paper consists of five parts:Section one is introduction. This section is to explain the purpose of the study, reviews the previous studies on the quality assurance of BTEC vocational qualifications, defines some core concepts and introduces the ideas and methods using in the paper.Section two has an overview of the basic situation of the BTEC vocational qualifications, which involves the background, status, type, grand level and efforts to adapt to Qualifications and Certificates Framework. BTEC vocational qualifications consists of17categories, covering BTEC entry and introductory qualifications、BTEC firsts、BTEC nationals、BTEC higher nationals、BTEC work skills and BTEC short courses.Section three is about the specific contents of the quality assurance of BTEC vocational qualifications. This part introduces the staff for central level and curriculum level. It illustrates the quality assurance policy of register, evaluation and internal audit. Besides, the paper analyzes the credentials execution plan, the executive audit, decision-making and feedback steps of BTEC vocational qualifications. Finally, this part describes the measures of quality assurance from aspects of certificate authorities, training institutions and learning staff.Sections four reveals the characteristics and effectiveness of the BTEC vocational qualifications. This part gives full interpretation of BTEC vocational qualifications about standardization of assurance system, assessment procedures and quality review. It discusses the achievement of BTEC vocational qualifications in terms of personal income, employment, personal development, as well as national financial benefits.Section five illustrates the inspiration of quality assurance of BTEC vocational qualifications for China, which includes strengthening legislation, improving the legal system of vocational qualification, facilitating the process of evaluation to build a rigorous assessment process as well as enhancing the review of the eligibility criteria to improve the supervision mechanism.
