Aesthetic education is an indispensable part of the Chinese education system; itplays an irreplaceable role in promoting the comprehensive development of students’personality. Classical poetry is an important part in Chinese teaching. It has beautifullanguage, distinct rhythm, rich emotions and profound artistic conception. To learnclassical poetry is an effective way to cultivate students’ aesthetic sentiment, raisestudent’s esthetic ability and construct student’beautiful life.By reading lots of books, journals and papers, and together with my own teachingexperience, I put forward some effective strategies for teaching classical poetryappreciation of the aesthetic perspective of high school by researching classical poetryappeared in Chinese textbooks of PEP edition for senior middle school with themethod of case study.Affected by the examination oriented system, the teaching of classical poetrytends to be utilitarian. In order to let the students get high marks in the exams, theteacher often use the spoon feeding education, they just teach the students some skillsor methods to answer the questions. What’s more, the lacking of teacher’s aestheticqualities and students’ aesthetic habits have not yet formed, in the process of teachingclassical poetry appreciation it is easy to ignore the aesthetic of the classical poetryitself. This thesis can be divided into the following five parts: the origin andsignificance of the research, analysis of the results of previous research, aestheticfactors of classical poetry and aesthetic characteristics of youth, analysis of thecurrent situation of aesthetic education of classical poetry, bringing of the effectivecountermeasures of aesthetic education of classical poetry. Based on previousresearch results, I proposed the following several effective strategies for the teachingof high school from the perspective of aesthetic appreciation of Classical Poetry:through understanding, imagination, artistic conception, chanting aloud, creatingsituations, intertextuality, reduction analysis, try writing.
