Short-distance cyclical speed-endurance events refer to cyclical movement maximal exercisein35s to2min. These sports are highly concerned about the Olympics and other worldcompetitions, fierce competition, while China has long lagged behind the sport. High requirementsin energy metabolism especially the energy supply of ATP-CP, anaerobic glycolysis and aerobicis common characteristics of this kind of sport, but also the key to scientific training. Ourbackwardness in these projects, as well as a breakthrough in the long term cannot be the mainreason lies in the theory ignores the energy metabolic basic research, lacks scientific andreasonable to control three energy metabolism systems in practice. The article through literature analysis, expert interviews, experimental studies, mathematicalstatistics and logical analysis to research both theoretical and empirical about metabolism issue inshort-distance cyclical speed-endurance events. In this paper, keywords in energy metabolism tosort out the development process of the World Endurance Training, demonstrates the importantopinions and arguments, summarized the main line and important nodes in development.Meanwhile, the article does not just stay in the summary of the history, but on this basis, accordingto China’s major problems existing in the current endurance training to analyze the major issues ofdevelopment status of aerobic, anaerobic, and their relationships, and an example rowing empiricalresearch. In this study, the following conclusions:a) Three energy supply system has an important supporting role for short-distance cyclicalspeed-endurance sports performance, single aerobic or anaerobic capacity to grow and cannoteffectively improve performance, the key factor of improve the specific performance isforming the consistent with the special needs energy supply. Awareness of the problem onenergy metabolism after a long process of attention from an emphasis on anaerobic to aerobic, then to the balance of them in the world. At present, China is still stressed anaerobic endurancetraining or aerobic capacity of a single issue, balance of aerobic anaerobic insufficientunderstanding and lack of attention, the main reason is the lack of in-depth study of specificmetabolic characteristics of endurance exercise.b) The special metabolic characteristics research of short-distance cyclical speed-endurance sports(800m run,200m freestyle,500m flat-water kayak) showed although exercise duration is the main criteria for the demarcation endurance sports training program. However, it does notaccurately reflect the characteristics of the various projects in energy metabolism and similarprojects cannot be used as endurance training methods based on learning from each other. Intraining, we need to fully consider the different sports special features of the force mode andmotion mechanics, these factors affect the metabolism to a certain extent, resulting in adifference energy supply in same duration sports.c) Experimental studies show that the relative energy contributions in45s exercises from PCr,lactic, and aerobic were36%,35%, and29%, training should be further distinguished theanaerobic alactic and anaerobic lactic energy supply, should also provide sufficient emphasis onaerobic metabolism for nearly30%of the energy. The test results of90s, aerobic and anaerobicenergy supply are essentially flat(51%and49%, respectively), however, the highestcontribution of aerobic energy in the three energy supply channels, training should focus onbalancing aerobic and anaerobic, there are differences and trained for three different energysupply capacity.d) Aerobic and anaerobic capacity is based on different adaptation mechanisms. In differentperiod, the crucial to improve performance are properly handled major-minor and sequentialrelationships of aerobic and anaerobic.
