Modal words is a vital part in junior high school Chinese teaching. Chinese modalwords have been neglected in the processes of changes of the guidance documents such asChinese teaching program.The idea which is called “Attenuation of modal words” isaccepted by the majority of teachers and applied in Chinese teaching theories and practiceprogresses.The thesis has made preliminary definition of modal words and explicit elaborationupon the contribution of modal words teaching to junior high Chinese education accordingto the reality of Chinese teaching in junior high school and cognition of students. At theaspects of “compilation of the modal words related contents in junior middle school textbooks”,“improvement of the overall quality of the teachers” and “the optimization ofjunior high school modal words teaching mood”, The thesis has put forward severalcountermeasures to the enhancement of junior middle school modal words teaching On thebasis of Chinese teaching education program, Chinese curriculum standards, therequirements of senior high school entrance examination and the on-site investigation ofjunior high middle school modal words education.The data collection and the theory frame work of the thesis are mainly made withbibliographical information, questionnaire surveys and interviews. The questionnaires aredesigned according to the teaching practice and the theme. The whole thesis is finished withthe materials from the interview with teachers and students in junior high middle schooland the analysis on mass data.
