Chinese teaching in middle school is a hot topic ofeducation discipline research all the time, however, uncommon wordsand meanings in idioms are left unnoticed in Chineseteaching.Idioms are treasures in Chinese traditional culture.Learning idioms can not only help middleschool students gain Chinese knowledge, but alsohelp them understand more about our own culture. This paper makesthe definition of uncommon words and meanings in idioms, and putsforward some teaching cases, aiming at providing some effectivemethods for Chinese teachers in middle schools. The first partof this paper includes fundamental theory and research status ofuncommon words and meanings in idioms, and introduces writingmethods and data source of this paper. The second part of thispaper explores from both subjective and objective points of view,including the learning psychology of middle school students aswell as the cause of uncommon words and meanings in idioms. Thispaper divides these idioms into three different kinds, and providesdifferent teaching methods. The third part of this paper listssome teaching cases in Chinese teaching. Finally, the fourth partof this paper puts forward different teaching principles aboutuncommon words and meanings in idioms in junior high school aswell as senior high school. This paper is integrated with theproperty of instrumentality and humanity, which is pointed out by Language Curriculum Standards. We hope this paper can providesome useful methods for Chinese teachers.
