Along with the popularization and application of computer and networktechnology in the field of education, Educational technology has experienced thechange process of it from Audio-Visual Education to e-Education. Educationaltechnology in universities which is one of the important research fields of practiceand theory. During the process of promoting the development of teaching reform andeducation information, which is the educational technology department plays animportant role.Due to the historical reason and the realistic need, most educational technologydepartment has changed and adjusted, the scope and content of work has developed indifferent agree as well. According to common sense, the development of functionshas reveals the department’ enthusiasm in the school business participation, and it hasa good momentum. However, with the development of Higher Education Information,the department has to facing up with development dilemma and crisis of survival. Wemust be to explore the sustainable development path of education technology.This paper makes use of some research methods, such as the historical analysismethod, literature method, investigation method, comparative method and so on. Itfollows the guidelines from finding, analysis and problems solving. The articlecombines the historical evolution and the current operation of functions, and itcompares to the overseas department of function. Which trying to find out somepossible problems, analyze the influencing factors behind the problem, and putforward some countermeasures and suggestions.According to this paper, with the context of differentiation of EducationalTechnology Service,"management","technology" and "service" approach to thetraditional department position which is difficult to meet the demand of educationdevelopment completely.
