To let the students participate in classroom teaching activities is one of thepurposes of modern education teaching. It is based on the teaching idea ofpeople-oriented and takes students as the center. As an important experimental subject,it is particularly important for physics to how make students participate in theteaching process in classroom. Because only students actively participate in classroomteaching activities, students can be made to form good scientific and learning attitudesin the process of physics learning. Above all, students can be autonomous learning.Through the local situation and educational situation of physics, the study draw aconclusion that at present the physics teaching work in this place has three factorswhich led to the poor performance in student’s learning physics. But the main reasonsare that students show very little enthusiasm to the subject and they have almost nointerest in learning physics. This paper mainly rely on mechanical part of physics insenior high school, guided by several theories such as experiment theory, learninginterest theory and the theory of constructivism. The study stresses on using low-costphysical experiment to stimulate and develop student’s interest in learning physicsduring the classroom teaching process. By the means of improving present experimentinstructions or designing low-coat new experiments in the teaching practice, thephysical experiment can be made full of fun, novelty and uniqueness so as to arousecuriosity and cultivate learning interest of all the students. This paper attempts to carry out some research on whether the low-cost physicalexperiments in the classroom can stimulate students’interest in learning physics. Itabsorbs and learns from existing research result and adopts the method of combiningtheory and practice. Students in two parallel classes of grade one are research subjects, which are divided into experimental classes and control classes. It does a comparativestudy on the changes of students’interest in learning, learning attitude, andenthusiasmby using questionnaires, comparing test scores and individual interviews, etc.The results have showed that “low-cost physical experiments” can effectivelystimulate and enhance students’interest in learning physics and improve students’ thinking ability and practical ability. Thereby, it enhances the students’understandingof physics and ability of using it.
