From whichever, geography knowledge acquisition or competence application, college entranceexamination is an effective way of summative evaluation to evaluate middle school education.Geography curriculum reform in high school demands the development of students’ essentialgeography learning ability. Geography image can be served as a good way to assess students’geography knowledge and ability. In recent years, it plays an important role in the college entranceexamination. After3years teaching, the author found that it is difficult for teachers to set the paperproperly and the teachers are lack of ability to interpret the geography image in specific teachingcases.At first, from his teaching experience, the author explained the purpose and significance of thestudy. This thesis illustrated the study situation of geography image research both at home andabroad, and important theory: geography image and map. Then, this thesis used statistical researchmethod to study questions about geography image in the papers of college entrance examination(national volume Ⅱ) as the research object. This thesis is supposed to investigate the characteristicsof questions about geography image in the past10years. Finally, with literature study, the authorexplained the implications of questions about geography image in the past10years to guide thegeography image teaching and preparation for the college entrance examination.After careful study, the findings of this thesis can be concluded as follows: Firstly, questionsabout geography image pay more attention to humanistic and regional geography knowledge, thetrend of the total amount of geographic image question is “up-down-up” on the whole. Thequestion types are primarily multiple choice and comprehensive question with an average of80%ofthe total proportion of the multiple choice and100%of the comprehensive question, which showsthat the question type of geography image in college entrance examination tends to comprehensivequestion. The proportion of the total score of geographic image question is80%. The proportion hasthe greatest reduction period during2008to2009and the most obvious rising period during2010to2011.Secondly, in the next year or two, future the questions about geography image in papers ofcollege entrance examination (national volume Ⅱ) will focus on examining humanistic and regional geography knowledge, the types of test will likely to be comprehensive question. The scoreproportion will remain at about80%and the total number may be on the rise. The map questionswill still be the major questions about geography image in college entrance examination; Contourmap may be reduced, but be the second to the map; Geographical statistical charts may increase andgeographical diagram are likely to reduce.Thirdly, in order to make a preparation for the questions about geography image in the future,the teacher ought to develop students’ thinking of geography image questions interpretation andconsolidate geography basic knowledge and essential ability in senior high school as well as shift theteaching philosophy of geography image. Most importantly, the teacher needs to pay much attentionto the training of students’ability to interpret the image in high school and the learning of humanisticand regional geography knowledge.
