Reading is an important activity of human social life, is an important way to learnan important means of human knowledge and understanding of the world, is to obtaininformation from written materials and affect the process of the reader, is to trainstudents to independently select, acquire, use of effective methods of knowledge andcapacity development.With the development of society, people often see about the stock market,currencies, costs and other information, understand the information, grasp and use,requires people to have the ability to read the language-based, including mathematics,including the ability to read multi-disciplinary reading ability. Instituteof CognitiveEducation as one of the pillars for life (learning to learn) is to develop students’self-learning ability. Reading is a major form of self-study to improve students’self-learning ability essence is to teach students to read.First, we must learn how to learn reading. Math reading is a student initiative toobtain information, acquire knowledge, develop mathematical thinking,learningimportant way mathematical language. As the symbolic, logical and rigorousmathematical language, abstract characteristics, different from the general readingmathematics have read particularity. Now high school students, there are more or lessdifficult problems reading, math dyslexia often leads to difficulties in student learning.This paper aims to study in Dongxiang minority middle school students readingability in mathematics, through the questionnaire survey, mathematical test andinterview to understand the current situation of Dongxiang Nationality Junior MiddleSchool Students in mathematics reading ability and problem, on the basis of the practiceof Dongxiang Nationality junior high school students reading ability in mathematicsvector to classroom teaching.Through literature study, questionnaire survey, mathematical test and interview,get the following conclusions:(1)the importance of education function of mathematicsreading;(2)cultivating junior students reading ability in mathematics, it is helpful to cultivate the mathematical literacy, helps the individual learning, contribute to theteaching function;(3)pay attention to the theory of reading, reading strategy ofmathematics;(4)Dongxiang nationality middle school students reading situation isworrying, mathematics reading ability is weak, should pay more attention to readingteaching, pay attention to mathematical language training, pay attention to theextracurricular reading.Finally, through the research on the cultivation of students’ mathematics readingability of junior high school in Dongxiang Nationality and put forward the followingsuggestions:(1)provide the opportunity to read, to guide students to understand theknowledge;(2) the creation of the problem situation, stimulate the students’ interest inreading;(3)require students to do preview;(4)strengthening the math languagecomprehension summary, mutual conversion ability;(5)encourage the students to readactively;(6) pay attention to extracurricular reading and reading assessment.
