Comprehensive practical activity course based on the student’s life and experience, is taken into practice to cultivate students’innovative spirit and practice ability and promote the all-round development of them. The main contents are community service and social practice, inquiry learning, the education of information technology and the labor and technology education. Inquiry learning is treated as the window of the new curriculum reform. Whether as a course or a way of learning, both urban and rural senior middle schools are facing many problems and have advantages and disadvantages in the process of inquiry learning. Based on the existence of these problems and the disproportion of the knowledge structure between urban and rural students, this paper attempts to construct the cooperative inquiry learning way between urban and rural areas, so as to break the bondage of urban and rural society structure, realize the sharing of education resources between urban and rural areas and the integration of urban and rural education.This paper is mainly divided into five parts. The first part is introduction, introduces the research background, current situation of related research, the significance and the research methods. Based on the study of domestic and foreign relevant research, the second part is a survey of an urban middle school and a rural middle school, in order to compare and analysis the differences and relationship of the implementation of inquiry learning between urban and rural senior middle school, and find the breakthrough point of the cooperation between them. The third part is the theoretical construction of inquiry learning based on the cooperation between urban and rural school, include the idea of detailed clarify, the main link and the role of teachers and students. The fourth part is the application of inquiry learning based on the cooperation between urban and rural areas, taking " Inquiry learning about the formation causes of a kind of rice named ’JingShanQiaoMi’" as a case study. The last part is mainly thinking and enlightenment, namely some difficulties and related matters needing to take attention to in process of the inquiry learning based on the cooperation between urban and rural areas, then some limitations of the study in this paper.
