The international curriculum offers a short way for the universities to foster the students with international perspectives, thus the domestic universities also give much attention to the development of the international curriculum. The first part of the dissertation analyzes the necessities and possibilities of the study of the international curriculum in social work in universities, and points out the meanings and contents of the study. In the second part, the author analyzes the existed studies about the domestic internationalization of the curriculum, and based on that, the author finds out the blank space of the studies, namely, the mutual benefit of the international curriculum and the key position of the culture. The third part is about the theory-the Ecosystems Theory, and the author thinks that the problems of the international curriculum are not because of the students or the teachers simply, but the effects of the whole social culture system. The forth part is about the methodology. In this study, the qualitative research method is used, and the in-depth interview is the main method when collecting and analyzing resources. The fifth part introduces the program of Linnaeus-Palme and the cooperation between the department of social work in Shandong University and Umea University. The sixth part is about the research findings, it points out the international curriculum is a process of mutual benefit, the culture plays the important role in the international curriculum, and points out the barriers, challenges and the difficulties. In the seventh part, the author gives some suggestions to the development of the international curriculum. The last part is about the contributions and the limits of this study.
