People’s ideas and behaviors have been profoundly changed with thedevelopment of China’s economic system and social structure, and the fusion ofChinese and western cultures. The physical and mental development of undergraduateswho are at or near the marriageable age is more and more mature. They ponder more onlove and marriage and have more related experiences. However, with the lack of correctguidance on the value on love and marriage and the social misleading, some problemsoccur in their value on love and marriage and their way to deal with the relationship. Itnot only influences the physical and mental health of undergraduates but also influencesthe social stability. The research on the status quo of undergraduates’ value on love andmarriage and the corresponding educational countermeasures not only meets theobjective demand of the undergraduates’ physical and mental development and providesa reference for ideological and political educating and management in the colleges anduniversities, but also reflects the changes of social and culture value and be useful to theimprovement of the ideological and political education discipline system and theconstruction of a harmonious socialist society.The method of questionnaire combined with interviews is adopted in the empiricalresearch on1350undergraduates’ value on love and marriage. The data collected aboutthe status quo are analyzed. It summarizes the general characteristics of undergraduates’value on love and marriage, that is, diversified love motivation, independent choices ofspouse, open-ended sexual value, and rationalized marriage loyalty. It is also analyzedin group disparity of undergraduates’ value on love and marriage from the aspects ofgender, location (urban and rural areas) and grade. Finally, the common problemsexisting on undergraduates’ value on love and marriage are pointed out. They lacksufficient preparation and the competence of love before falling in love. They holdunstable value on love and marriage. Some students are opportunistic about love and marriage. Male authority is severe and popular. They targets wrong spouse and are notcautious about the sexual choice. Besides, they lack serious consideration of the sexualbehavior.The article analyzes the reasons aiming at the problems existing in undergraduates’value on love and marriage from school, family, undergraduates, social environment andtraditional culture:the weak management of school education, the inefficient attentionof family education,the loss of humanism of some students, complicated socialenvironment, and deep-rooted traditional culture.Finally, some educational countermeasures to undergraduate’s value on love andmarriage are put forward from three aspects: education idea, education resources andeducation object: transformation of education idea, setting up the scientific educationgoals with the value on love and marriage; integrating education resources, constructingthe four-dimensional education mode; orientating the education object, andstrengthening the direction and effectiveness of education.
