School is a place cultivating talents with comprehensive quality, where various andcolorful sports teaching is an important work to comprehensively exercise and shape goodphysical and mental quality, and aerobics teaching and training is an important aspect ofphysical education quality. Aerobics teaching and training has a specific function ofdeveloping students’ physical and mental quality, and plays a significant role of exercisingand shaping good physical and mental quality in an all-round way. High schools in Wuxihave paid much attention to aerobics teaching and training. Aerobics competitionorganized by Wuxi School Management Center is held every year, and all the schools arerequired to attend, which promotes the progress of aerobics, and the development ofaerobics in Wuxi. However, limited by practical conditions such as lack of teachingarrangement, faculty, stadiums, the situation of aerobics teaching and training varies indifferent schools. In that the research on this topic aims to find the adverse factorshindering the development of aerobics teaching and training, through investigating andanalyzing the status quo in senior high schools in Wuxi, so as to take measures to promotethe further development of aerobics teaching and training in high schools is Wuxi, and tooffer a reference for relevant departments to make sound decisions. In this paper, methodsof documents, questionnaires, interviews, data analysis and so on are adopted in theinvestigation and analysis of the current situation of aerobics in senior high schools inWuxi. By getting the picture of high school aerobics teachers, teaching situation, amateurtraining and after-class aerobics activities in Wuxi, this paper intends to find out theexisting problems, to put forward suggestions for development, and to offer a reference forbetter development of aerobics in high school.RESEARCH RESULTS:1. high school aerobics teachers in Wuxi are generally young and high educated,bachelor degree in majority and postgraduates under way; primary title and female teachersin majority, causing a serious imbalance in sex ratio; aerobics as the original specialty in majority; as professional training, training of city level is in majority and provincial andnational training in minority.2. Aerobics class has been generally carried out in high schools in Wuxi, but its classhours are less in most schools, and it is mainly a selective course; aerobics teaching contentusually contains the series of campus youth aerobics, aerobics basic step&combinedpractice, the national aerobics exercise standards etc.3. High school students’ cognition for aerobics is higher, and has a thoroughunderstanding of its benefit for physique, entertainment, physical and mental pleasure,alleviation of the study pressure and physical and mental health; especially for girls,aerobics is graceful, energetic, timely, having an effect on shaping body.4. Aerobics teaching content is acceptable and necessary to most students. Girls likeaerobics, among the top of the options, but boys show little interest in it.5. High school aerobics teachers in Wuxi use diverse teaching methods. Examinationmainly covers complete sets of aerobics and self-designed aerobics, and evaluation laysparticular stress on teachers’ self-evaluation and students’ mutual evaluation.6. Most schools have aerobics sports teams, and participate in the district and citylevel aerobics competitions every year, but most of these schools just carry out short-termtraining before the game; generally aerobics players have little foundation, and fewerstudents volunteer to attend the competition due to their study stress. Players are mainlychosen by teachers in class according to whether they have good coordination and dancingfoundation.7. Most schools have aerobics gyms, but the sound devices are not yet good. The siteconditions now available can’t well meet the requirements of aerobics teaching andtraining according to most aerobics teachers.8. The main factors influencing aerobics teaching include the limit of teaching hours,unobvious teaching efficiency, little attention from leaders; main factors influencingaerobics training are its negative effects on study and inadequate attention from leaders.Measures are put forward on the basis of the analysis above.
