Years of high school teaching made me aware that improving highschool student’s physics is a slow progress and some students even knownothing about it after all that study. Thinking about all the possible reasonsthat are responsible for this I found out that many students failed to gain acorrect recognition on physics in. They think Physics is difficult; Chemistryis boring and the math never ends. Many high school students think physicsis too difficult that they choose to study arts when they got the chance.Indeed physics is a subject of many concepts and most of them are quiteabstract, which makes it difficult for student to understand. Becausestudents’ abstract thinking ability are not well-developed and are not fullyused. Meanwhile teachers’ teaching methods are inappropriate and that leadsto low teaching efficacy and caused difficulties for students to learn physicsboth mentally and logically. With the implement of new curriculum standard, especially in physics, it brought high school physics teaching with newchallenges and opportunities, which requires new demand both on teachersand students. To make physics teaching more effective and more acceptableteachers should have a thorough understanding on the demand of newcurriculum standard in physics and gain a practical understanding onteaching material as well as students. In this thesis, the author used interviews, questionnaire, quasiexperimental method, action research method, literature research method andeducation method to do the research. Taking the author’s practical situationin the school into account the author also combined school’s theory onschool management “study advantage education” and the classroom teachingmethod of “using learning guidance and mind map” to make teaching morevivid and visual, to guide students to solve practical problems using basicphysics concept. The study mainly based on high school physics teaching using physics practical learning as a breakthrough to solve the problemsexisted in the targeted high school such as lack of interest, motivation andpoor ability in solving problems and searching for answers. Aiming atimproving the targeted school’s current situation in physics teaching. Tomotivate students’learning interest and learning ability in physics.During the actual case study, students gained scientific learning method, developed better learning attitude and improved their ability in operation, cooperation, searching informations and creativity. Gradually the authorcultivated the studens’ ability in finding out problems analyzing it andeventually solving the problem. After the training students developed greatinterest in learning physics therefore improved their grade. By class teachingreform, the targeted school enlarged the number of students who studiesscience from three classes originally to five classes this year alone and madecontribution in improving the quality of physics teaching and promotedquality-originated education and creative education bringing newpossibilities in fully educating students.
