Emotions are the key factor which influences the effect of learning in learningprocess. However, it is influenced by the examination-oriented education. The societyignores the students’ emotional life which makes many high schools still attach greatimportance to cognition in English teaching and learning for a long time. This makesstudents feel sick of English. This phenomenon restrains the healthy development ofstudents’ emotion and affects the qualities of instruction. Therefore, we put theemotional attitude in the objective position in the new curriculum standard. The newcurriculum standard proposes that we should pay attention to students’ emotion in highschool English teaching process. Teachers should cultivate students’ emotional attitude, develop students’ initiative and creativity. Teachers should be positive to stimulatestudents’ interest in learning, cultivate their learning motivation, help students to buildself-confidence and cooperation spirit, help students overcome emotional difficultiestimely, thus to achieve greater success in English learning.Based on the above premise and background, the author surveys and interviews thestudents and teachers in high school grade one as the research subject. Thequestionnaire adopts a magnitude scale method, and the author has recycled100students’ questionnaire and carried on the interview of students and English teachers. The results show that:(1)In the aspect of learning motivation,65%of the students have a strong learningmotivation, and the other students’ English learning motivation is insufficient.(2) In terms of confidence,47%of the students have the confidence to learn Englishwell, nearly fifty percent of the students realize that interest is the biggest factor whichinfluences English learning.(3)In the learning process many students feel anxiety, which mainly exists in exams andspeaking English in public.(4)The English teaching of high school attaches great importance to the cognition and neglects emotion. When preparing a lesson, most teachers consider teaching materialcontent, only a few teachers take emotional attitude as one of the teaching goals andstudents’ knowledge structure into consideration.(5)There is a lack of communication between teachers and students. Students generallybelieve that they seldom communicate with the teacher. Most teachers think emotionalcommunication between teachers and students is very important, but there is a lack ofinteraction between teachers and students in classroom teaching.Above all, the main reason which influences the emotional teaching is theinteraction between students and teachers. Therefore, the author based on the results ofthe survey, combined with the related theory and practice of emotion teaching, proposesthe English emotional teaching countermeasures:(1)we should stimulate learningmotivation, cultivate learning interest;(2)the teacher should help students buildself-confidence;(3) the teacher should guide and reduce the students’ anxiety positive;(4)we should change teachers view of “attaching great importance to the cognition andneglecting emotion”,(5)We should take students as the principal body in learning andteaching, establish a good relationship between teachers and students.
