In the textbook of Chinese language, Expository writing is the mayor style during theso called “three writing styles”. Despite the fact that the Expository articles are not as much asthe others, Expository writing which is widely used plays an important role in our daily life.Learning Expository writing article well can not only be good for the daily life, but also canbe good for constantly learning. While in the current middle school language teaching,Expository writing which both the students and the teachers dislike has not been takenseriously. This article begins with the status of teaching and learning, with the help of theactual situation of teaching survey to find out the reason why both the students and theteachers dislike Expository writing, meanwhile, it shall propose targeted views.This article can be divided into three parts:First part mainly analysis and statistical questionnaires. According to the situation ofteaching and learning, I divided the questionnaire into two parts: the volume teachers and thevolume students for high school language teachers and students, to understand the textdescription of the current realities of teaching.Second parts investigate the problems of teaching and learning explanation according tothe questionnaire analysis.The third parts mainly give some advises for existing problems from the aspects oftextbooks, students, teachers, and the examination in order to provide a reference forexpository teaching.
