Taking part in kinds of extracurricular physical education is not only good for students bodyand mental healthy,but also good for developing good habits, lying a good foundation for lifelongphysical exercise.Extracurricular physical exercise refers to that in students spare time they canmake use of kinds of sports means and methods to enhance their physical fitness, and to promotetheir mental health,enrich their cultural life,including physical activity in and after school physicalexercise.Through the early days research,we found that primary school students go home directlyunder the teachers organization when after school,they do not have chance to do exercise,notmention to use sport equipments in school.Extracurricular physical exercise is an important part of school sports,and an essential way toachieve the objectives of school physical education. Physical education is an vital part of primaryschool education,it can promote children`s healthy and make them develope a good habit to doexercise every day.Only depend on P.E class can not satisfy children`s needs,we should make useof extracurricular physical exercise to train students`interest and good sense about doing exerciseno matter in shool or after school.This paper take1200students which is extracted from Yangpu district as the study object.Thestudy methods includes the literature searching,chatting with the specialist,paperinsults,observation,etc in order to investigate the status about students take part in theextracurricular physical exercise in Yangpu district. This paper comprehensive use of Sociologyof Sport、Sports Management、Educational Psychology、Logic and statistical analysis methods.etcmultidisciplinary theories and methods to study the full situation,such as students`sense abouttaking part in extracurricular physical exercise、time、location、event、how many time a week、methods and so on.The conclusions:(1)Students from Yangpu distract like to participate in extracurricular physical exercise andthey know very well about the value of doing physical exercise,and almost of them has the propermotivation,they also can according to their needs to choose the sports.There is no differencebetween girls and boys in the degree about how much they in favor of taking part inextracurricular physical exercise.And most of them feel very happy after they done withexercise.But some students do not realize that participate in extracurricular physical exercise is agood way to make new friends.The frequency、 duration and intensity of students to participate inintramural sports activities is in good condition.But there is a gender difference in intensity.(2)Students take most of their time to finish home work or review in their off schooltime.Almost one third students never take part in doing exercise after they off school.Studentswho do physical exercise after school have a good habit,the frequency、 duration and intensity isgood.The place of lots students do physical exercise is in park、fixed place in their community andPublic health establishments.Students choose to participate in school sports`main features are lessdemanding about site conditions,such as skating and skateboarding; more popular events, such asbadminton.There is a gender difference in the choose of sports.The main affecting factors about school students to participate in sports activities areobjective and subjective factors.The objective factors include the lack of sport equipment、the lackof time、no guide,etc.The subjective factors include the fear of injury、bad body condition、the poorskills and no habits. Suggestions:1.School leader gave more awareness to extracurricular sports activities2,。Strengthen school physical education teachers to guide the work of the organization ofextracurricular physical exercise3.Organize more sports competitions and collective sports4.Hold Home-School sport day in regular5.Add more money to improve school sports equipment and facilities6.Increase the entertainment about extracurricular sports activities...
