In the context of the era of knowledge economy and the development of Henan Zhongyuan EconomicZone, higher education as the important position in training senior specialists and the development ofscience and technology culture, shoulders the heavy task of delivering high-quality talent for Henan socialconstruction, and also shoulders to the important task of improving scientific and cultural qualities andscientific and technological innovation ability of the existing and future laborers in the labor market. As anpart of higher education structure, the rationality of discipline structure is very important to the orderlydevelopment of the high education and the social development. Therefore, the paper choose the disciplinestructure of Henan higher education from2002to2012as topics, using scientific and systematic method tosort out and analyze Henan higher education discipline structure of the past decade, with a view to providesome targeted proposals for the more scientific and reasonable discipline structure of Henan highereducation; to provide scientific basis for policy-making of Henan higher education, and abundant civilresearch of the discipline structure of higher education, especially Henan Province.I take the change of the discipline structure of Henan higher education as the research object.Describing the status of the discipline structure of Henan higher education, comporting with the nationalaverage, anglicizing the relationship between discipline structure and population industry structure,discipline structure and industrial structure, we test the rationality of the discipline structure of Henanhigher education. After more than ten years'development, the current status of the discipline structure ofHenan higher education roughly show the following:From enrollment, the enrollment of the variousdisciplines of higher education in our province has increased significantly (except philosophy). As of2010,compared with2002, the proportion of enrollments in engineering, medicine, management have improvedto some extent; but the proportion of other subjects in overall enrollment was lower in varying degrees,with in the absolute number of admissions increased. From the number of the professional settings and theprofessional distribution, as of2012, undergraduate education covers318professional in11disciplines,accounting for59%of professional directories, and professional points reached1890; College educationcovers398professional in19disciplines, and professional points reached2010.It has significantlyenhanced compared with2010. By the means of compurgation and regression analysis, the result shows that:the discipline structure of Henan higher education is substantially rational, and the enrollment status ofvarious disciplines is consistent with the national level; the relationship between the tertiary industry andmanagement science, literature and other disciplines is coordinate; the relationship between agronomydisciplinary education scale and primary industry, engineering and secondary industry is not perfectlycoordinate, and need to be adjusted and optimized. Analysis of the reasons, we believe that the main reasonof the current problems is that: the weak foundation and poor infrastructure of Henan higher education,the relatively lagging level of economic development and the insufficient higher education funding, thecentralized right of professional setting, the limited preferential policies and so on. Contrary to the problemin the discipline structure of Henan higher education, we propose appropriate countermeasures, includingsome proposal such as optimizing the structure of the professional, enhancing the professional quality,strengthening the construction of Key Disciplines, and developing new disciplines and interdisciplinary.
