With the human society entering the information age, the speed of knowledge updating andintegration has never happened. Which requires the person must have the ability of information extractionand integration. In order to adapt to this changing, the Biological college entrance examination after thenew curriculum reform clearly put forward that the ability of information integration must be assessed.However, the biological knowledge is system, complicated and confusing. In view of the biologicalcharacteristics and the requirements of the new era,seeking the teaching strategy and leaning method arelooming.The British scholar Tony Buzau created the mind mapping in the early1970’s, which is known asthe “world MR brain” and “the father of memory”. The mind mapping makes full use of the left brain logic,order, rules, text, numbers, and the brain image, imagination, color, space, and other factors, which changesa long string boring information into color, easy to remember, and highly organized graph. Making themind mapping is consistent with the divergent thinking. The mind mapping not only can improve ourmemory and attention, also can inspire our imagination and creativity.The mind mapping meets thedemands of a new age and complies with the law of thinking of the brain, which emerges as the timesrequire and has been popularized. In the face of all the countries in the world making use of mind mappingand promoting it, we also have the relevant research in our country, but we are still in the embryonic stagecompared with some foreign countries, or we almost don’t use it in the teaching. There is few people knowthe mind mapping in teachers, or it is seldom reports about applied mind mapping.This study is based on reading lots of related articles about the theory of mind map,and to be usedand discussed in practice. The main purpose of this study is to convey the "mind map" of the learning toolsto students, and construct a new teaching method, at the same time, discusses the feasibility. This studyadopted literature method, survey method and discussion method, and analysis of the teaching of usingmind mapping.The results show that, the mind map compared with the general learning method has thefollowing advantages. First,the mind map can help students take notes quickly and extract informationtimely. Second, it can help students clarify the knowledge in the course to make them learn and use biology knowledge more effectively. Third, it can help students integrate information, construct knowledge andform scientific learning style. Fourth, it can help students review knowledge efficiency. Fifth, it can alsohelp them develop their creative thinking level and so on. This research results can provide help forteachers of using mind mapping,and provides a new approach to teaching and learning for teachers andstudents. At the same time,which helps for the application and popularization of the mind mapping in theteaching activities in China,and provides some reference to improve the teaching quality and learningefficiency,too.
