As we human beings step into the21stcentury, for cultivating new-type talents which areneeded by the radically changing society, all countries around the world face an urgentproject-adjusting and reforming the curriculum setting of regular senior middle schools. It hasbeen ten years since a new round of curriculum reform began with the the enactment ofRegular Senior Middle School Curriculum Scheme. A decade of grinding sword,someschools catch and make full use of curriculum rights, and they develop very quickly, howeversome schools have fallen behind at the same time. What makes this gap widen among schools?Through looking up large numbers of related documents and having some interviews withheadmasters of regular senior middle schools, the author held the opinion that curriculumleadership of headmasters decides the process of curriculum reform of schools. So how dosome weak schools develop by catching the chance of curriculum reform, and what’s thesituation of headmasters’ curriculum leadership now? The author wants to get the answer bymaking a case study.Thinking comprehensively, the author finally chooses Mr. Pang, who is the headmasterof No.12High school of Henan at Zhengzhou City to make this case study of headmasters’curriculum leadership. This research includes six parts. First of all, through looking up andsorting out documents to get the information of the research status. Then, explaining relatedcore concepts and theories on headmasters’ curriculum leadership, and structuringfive-dimensionality on two levels for analyzing curriculum leadership, and they are ability ofleading curriculum thought、ability of programming curriculum scheme、ability of buildingcurriculum group、ability of integrating curriculum resources and ability of managing andability of controlling curriculum implementation. Now we come to the third part which is alsothe most important part of this thesis paper—case study of Mr. Pang’s curriculum leadership.The author go into Mr. Pang’s daily job and get the firsthand information of Mr. Pang’scurriculum leadership through making use of questionnaire and depth interview data. On thisbasis, the author put forward the ways and tactics of improving Mr. Pang’s curriculumleadership. At last, pointing out the conclusion and drawbacks of this thesis. The authorsincerely hopes that Mr. Pang can draw some lessons from this thesis paper on his curriculum leadership, and that make a contribution to headmasters’ curriculum leadership of regularsenior middle school.
