The Senior High School Chinese Curriculum Standard (Teaching Outline) is the basic programmaticdocument of China’s Chinese curriculum; and it is also the basic standard and quality requirementstipulated by the state for the basic education curriculum-Chinese. The promulgation and implementationof a new Chinese curriculum standard (teaching outline) indicates that a new Chinese curriculum reformwas carried out from the establishment of New China up to now, it has eight times significant change in theSenior High School Chinese Curriculum Standard (Teaching Outline). Except for the Senior High SchoolLiterature Teaching Outline promulgated in1956and Full-time Middle School Chinese Teaching Outline(Draft) promulgated in1963before the reform and opening-up, since the reform and opening-up up to now,at least six times significant reform was carried out in the senior high school Chinese teaching. These sixcurriculum reforms can be said to have made some great achievements, which plays an indispensable andcrucial role in the development of Chinese education and the enhancement of Chinese teaching quality forhigh school in China, also making a positive contribution to promote the rapid development of China’spolitical, economic, cultural, educational aspects and so forth. However, there is still a great contrastbetween the development situation of the Chinese education in China and the requirements of the times aswell as its historical responsibility. Thus, the Chinese Ministry of Education made some revision on theoriginal syllabus in2002and issued the Ordinary High School Chinese Curriculum Standard (trial) in2003,replacing with "syllabus" with "curriculum standards" and fully implementing it in the fall of2007.Compared with the old syllabus, the new curriculum standards have made some new breakthroughs, whichwill undoubtedly become the most compelling highlights of curriculum reform. Nevertheless, at home, thecomparative study between high school Chinese curriculum standards and the syllabus since the reform andopening up is not much at present, which shows that people have not paid much attention to thedevelopment history of high school Chinese curriculum standards (syllabus). In fact, there are varioussyllabi which have great significance in the history of Chinese education, and there are many lessons thatwe can learn from history. Therefore, to some degree, it is valuable and significant for this paper to concernthis issue. Different from the former research which mainly focuses on the interpretation of the singlesenior high school Chinese curriculum standard, my research will make some expansion, namely, making a comparative research on China’s Senior High School Chinese Curriculum Standard (Teaching Outline)over the years. Meanwhile, at the time of giving affirmation on the achievements of the senior high schoolChinese curriculum standard, I will also objectively evaluate their deficiency and put forward somesuggestions on them. Along with the more and more deeply reform carried out by the state in the basiceducation curriculum, the research prospect on the senior high school Chinese curriculum standard will bemore and more promising. As long as we are based on the attitude of summing up and reflecting the pastand the spirit of looking forward to the future, the research on the senior high school Chinese curriculumstandard will certainly make new progress. Reviewing the research on Senior High School ChineseCurriculum Standard (Teaching Outline) since the reform and opening-up, it can help us organize thethoughts, find out the value and problems of the existing research in view of holism and provide somereference and thinking in the formulation of the future senior high school Chinese curriculum standard.
