In recent years, mathematics curriculum reform has been taken place allover the world. The primary issue of the reform is how to balance betweenstudents’ basic skills and high-level mathematical thinking skills. From themathematical point of view, teaching mathematics is not only to find thebalance between the two,, but also to build a bridge from basic skills tohigh-level thinking skills.This article analyzes the referring literature about variation strategy inmathematics comprehensively, and summarizes the typical thought ofvariation strategy together with its theory guidance and teaching principles.Then this article successively conducts a theoretical analysis on the variantsof mathematical concepts and mathematical examples and exercises,combined with mathematics teaching cases from junior frontline educators.Furthermore, this article tests the effect of variation strategy in practice, andprovides suggestions to mathematics variance teaching. This article refers torelevant theories of educational psychology, the nature of mathematics andmathematics learning, and educational experiences of some seniors, hopingto help front-line teachers understand variant teaching systematically,therefore, better improve teaching in practice.
