With the rapid development of modern information technology, multimediatechnology is widely used in teaching,as a modern teaching means, which has aprofound impact on modern education. Integration of multimedia and Chinese discipline,has injected new vitality to classroom teaching, and positively effected on theimprovement of Chinese teaching quality. Reading teaching is always the importantcontent of Chinese teaching.But some teachers’ ambiguous views on the essence ofmultimedia technology resulted in many teachers’ misunderstanding of multimediatechnology applyed to Chinese reading teaching,to some extent, which restricted thedevelopment of multimedia Chinese reading teaching. How to integrate multimediatenology and Chinese reading teaching organically and effectively play multimediaauxiliary teaching’s role, has received the extensive concern of education workers.This paper focuses on three aspects: the relevance of multimedia technology andChinese reading teaching, in-depth study of the application status of multimediatechnology in Chinese reading teching and the effective strategy in which multimediatechnology is applied to Chinese reading teching, which is summarized as follows:(1)This paper elaborates the teaching features of multimedia technology, therelevance of multimedia technology and the teaching of reading,and the role multimediatechnology plays in Chinese reading teaching in primary school, which lay a foundationfor further study.(2)Through the investigation and study,this paper summarizesteachers’misunderstanding of multimedia assisting reading teaching and analyses thereason of misunderstanding. In order to find out the essence of the problem, the authoranalyzed the specific reason that multimedia is applied improperly to Chinese reading teaching combing with the actual situation, by the way of class teaching record andquestionnaire investigation for teachers and students.(3)This paper extracts the effective strategies that multimedia is applied to Chinesereading teaching in primary school and analyses how to use multimedia assistingChinese reading teaching more effective. The author applies these ideas to usualteaching pracitce and on that basis, extracts the resonable and effective strategy inwhich the multimedia is applied to Chinese reading teaching in primary schoolandmakes a detailed analysis in typical cases. Finally the author verifies the effectivenessof these methods through the questionnaire among the students and student Chineseachievement.
