The research of studying the female college students’body self-esteem in shanghai and the effect of each dimension of the scale on them by Participating in aerobics can help to discuss the way to increase the college students’interest in physical exercises, to set up the correct health values, to improve the level of physical self-esteem.Two hundred and two female college students were recruited to participate in this study with questionnaire method.To research and analysis the consequence of the respondents, we use data-finding and mathematical statistics to do it. This study is going to analysis the participation of aerobics among the female college students, including their cognitive situation to aerobics and the approaches for participation of aerobics; to compare the body esteem-self level between the female college students who has participated in the aerobics and the total respondents’, also the comparison between the non-participants and the total respondents; to research the impact of difference length of time of participation on body esteem-self level, including the situation about the different length of time of participation in aerobics, the differences of basic situation between the different length of time of participation and the college female students’body esteem-self, the one-factor analysis of variance between the different length of time of participation in aerobics and the level of body esteem-self, the multiple comparisons between the total body esteem-self scores of the different length of participating time and respective dimension.The result reveal:①female college students in shanghai have a certain understanding of the aerobics project48.35%of them have a basic understanding of the aerobics project, the students who had participated in the aerobics project have a higher degree of knowing about the aerobics project than those who has never participated in the item. In term of non-participants, most of them have little knowledge of the aerobics and quite a few students who has participated in aerobics stay in the state of vague cognition to this item. This phenomenon is possibly related to the skills and the teaching method in the course of study, also the ignorance of relevant theoretical knowledge of learning. And also the former has a stronger consciousness of participating in aerobics project than the latter. No matter the experienced or unexperienced ones,65.09%of them no longer join in the aerobics project because there is no interesting content the aerobics project attract them.②Students who have participated in aerobics exercises scored significantly higher than on the self-esteem scale than those who have never participated in it, and on all dimensions of the body self-esteem, there is a significant difference in the three dimensions(body self-value、sport ability and bodily attractive).The difference of body state and bodily attractive is not significant.④To the students who have different length of time of participating in aerobic exercises, the total score of the body self-esteem exist a significant difference,also exist in the two dimensions(body self-value and bodily attractive).And there is not a significant difference in the three dimensions(sport ability、body state and body quality).With the increase of the length of exercise time, the score of the level about body self-esteem is rising.④According to the difference of the length of exercise time, the respondents were divided into5groups. With the multiple comparison analysis, the result show that students whose exercise time beyond2years scored significantly higher on the two dimensions(body self-value and bodily attractiveness) than those whose below a month, and there is a much significant different exist on the score of body self-esteem between the2kinds of respondents. To compare the students whose exercise time from1year to2years with those whose exercise time below a month, there is a significant difference on the total score of the body self-esteem, also between the body self-value and bodily attractiveness. To compare the students whose exercise time from a month to half a year with those whose exercise time beyond2years, there is a significant difference on the total score of body self-esteem scale and on the dimension of bodily attractiveness.⑤Participating in aerobics exercise more than a month will result in the promotion of physical self-worth, the more time was spent to participate in exercises, the higher the level of physical self-worth was enhanced. Aerobics exercise is a good method to train all parts of the body. It can improve individuals’athletic ability effectively, so aerobics exercise can promote the female college students’ athletic ability well through a period of time. Participating in aerobics exercise will play a positive role in physical condition, the students who have the experience of more half a year of aerobics exercise will own a good physical condition. Aerobics exercises can result in the effect of reducing fat and moulding the shape. The individuals who insist on tempering can rise the physical attractiveness and let them become more confident. Participating in aerobics exercise can improve the female students’ physical attractiveness, the level of body self-esteem moderately. The high level of self-esteem of individuals’ all aspects make them more confident.
