Under the new curriculum standard, teaching should be based on students’ cognitive development level and existing experience. Teaching should be available to all students. In the whole process of English learning, teachers must pay attention to heuristic method of teaching and follow the principle of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude. When facing students who are having difficulty with mathematics learning, the best way for us teachers to convert them is to attach great importance to developing and improving their autonomous learning ability. If students with learning difficulties have certain autonomous learning ability, they will have confidence in mathematics learning and they will be eager to learn mathematics. This kind of psychology can help students understand what teachers say in class, such as some key points and difficult points, and can stimulate students’ learning desire, and eventually improve their learning efficiency.The purpose of this paper is to explore how to developthe autonomouslearning abilityof some students with learning difficulties in the junior middle school mathematics classroom.First of all, the paper, starting with putting forward how to cultivate autonomous learning ability and the research significance, in turn, expounds the definition of "students with learning difficulties ", the characteristics and the causes.The paper also refers to the study of "autonomous learning"by the scholars at home and abroad to comprehend "autonomous learning ability",the structure and the theoretical basis of this subject. Secondly, the paper studies learning characteristics of the students with learning difficulties, and on this basis, adopts questionnaires focusing on the present situation which the students with learning difficulties are facing with autonomous learning ability.The paper makes further analysis of the status quo combined with the survey results and initially determines the main factors which influence the development of autonomous learning ability of those students. And then,to solve these problems,the paper puts forward the basic strategy and effective teaching mode to develop autonomous learning ability of the underachievers in junior middle school,using the mode of learning plan‐guided teaching, and compares the distinction and connection among "Learning plan" and "Teaching plan" and "Guided Learning Plan ".This paper expounds the definition of the mode of learning plan‐guided teaching and its value of developing autonomous learning ability of students with learning difficultiesin the junior middle school.Finally, the paper verifies that the mode of learning plan‐guided teaching improves the effectiveness of autonomous learning ability of the students with learning difficulties in junior middle school by questionnaire investigation and individual case analysis. The conclusion is that the mode of learning plan‐guided teaching has an obvious role in promoting the development of autonomous learning ability of the students with learning difficulties in junior middle school.
