It’s more than80years since foreign literary works were selected into textbooks ofSecondary language as teaching materials which is of great importance to molding character,cultivating aesthetic and enriching spirit. And the arrival of the Time of diversification,information and individuation makes foreign culture more necessary during teaching whosemain task is to exploit and foster Aesthetic judgment, then carry it out within students’character. However, Aesthetic Education is often ignored because of some reasons such asdifferent educational concepts, examination-oriented education and students’ lack in interests.This thesis mainly discusses the loss of aesthetic elements in the teaching of foreign literaryof Secondary language, analyses the reasons and finds out the ways to solving these problem.This thesis is divided into three parts which are introduction, body and inclusion.The introduction clearly talks about the significance and object of this thesis, then itincludes phenomenons of the loss of aesthetic elements from domestic and external studies.The main body includes four chapters. There are three sections in the first chapter, thefirst section states the origins, meaning of Aesthetic education, the second section introducesits functions, the last analyses its necessity during the teaching. The second chapter is dividedinto four sections, which separately analyze the loss of Aesthetic elements in the teaching offoreign poem, prose, novel and drama these four literary form as they take over the most partof literary works in Secondary language. The third chapter analyses the factors leading to thephenomenon of the second chapter. There are three sections in all which analyses the reasonsfrom teacher, student and work itself separately. The last chapter mainly focuses on findingout the ways to solving the problems above which is also starts from teacher and studentcorresponding.The conclusion is the sublimation of the whole thesis,which mainly summarizes the lossof Aesthetic elements across the whole teaching of Secondary language and the reasonsleading to this loss,then makes out the measures and put it into the teaching of foreignliterary,which will provide reference in present teaching.
