Research On The Status And Strategies Of Intellectual Property Protection Of Universities In China

Innovation is not only the source of economic growth, but also the main force ofsocial development. It is also the soul of continuous progress of a nation. Nationalinnovation system provides a strong guarantee for the sustainable development of society,an important guarantee to cultivate innovative talents and solid pillars to improve thecountry’s comprehensive strength and international competitiveness.Currently, a nationalinnovation system and positively promoting the development of intellectual propertystrategy implementations is building in China. Universities are the core of knowledge andtechnological innovation, and they undertake the important task of innovation. This articlestudies protection of universities’ intellectual property in order to match the nationalinnovation system construction and implementation of intellectual property strategy, andimprove the level of university intellectual property protection.This article has carried on a brief overview on the intellectual property anduniversities’ intellectual property protection, and affirmed the progress of intellectualproperty rights protection work in universities. But in universities, the current protection ofintellectual property rights are still facing many problems such as weak consciousness ofintellectual property rights, imperfect mechanism of transformation in scientific andtechnological achievements, unsound management mechanism, imperfect legal system andso on. These problems are responsible for the falling behind of the intellectual propertyprotection and management work in colleges and universities and the relatively slowprocess of the implementation of intellectual property rights strategy. In order to solvethese problems, the protection of intellectual property rights situation of America andJapan are introduced, lessons are drawn from the experience in intellectual propertyprotection and management of universities to summarize several enlightenment fordomestic universities, and finally puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions,including strengthening of intellectual property rights protection advocating, buildingintellectual education system, establishing an effective mechanism for the transformationof intellectual property rights, sounding the management system of universities andimproving the legal protection of intellectual property rights system, looking forward toprotecting interests of universities, and making some contributions to the construction ofnational innovation system and the implementation of intellectual property strategy.
