| With the advent of economic globalization, science and technology have been enjoying a rapid development, which results in a gradually increasing demand for highly-competent people, a more and more rigid standard for talents, and an increasingly severe talents competition. Paying more and more attention to talent cultivation of talents, countries all over the world have successively carried out higher educational reform which promotes all-round development of human being. Over the thirty years after reform and opening, the politics, economy, and society in China have been developing rapidly, and the comprehensive national strength also has been increasing constantly. Meanwhile, the demand for talents changed from specialist to generalist and finally to both. Higher education in China has also changed from specialized education to general one. However, because of the division of arts and sciences and the long-term phenomenon of attaching more importance to sciences than arts in China, many undergraduates are lack of humanistic quality and suffering from personality deviation. As a result, it is usually hard for them to adapt to the fierce competition in the talent market.Since the Ministry of Education appealed to carry out cultural quality education in1995, cultural quality education has gone through three stages:pilot exploration, base establishment, and full implementation, and gained wide attention and recognition in the society. At the same time, in the practice of cultural quality education, many problems deserving deep research have emerged, especially in the colleges and universities of finance and economics.SWUFE, which is a key national university under directly administration of the Ministry of Education and is listed in both "Project211" and "985Innovative Platforms for Key disciplines Project", is one of the earliest bases of cultural quality education. It has made great achievements in cultural quality education. Meanwhile, there are also some problems. Applying documentary method, investigation method, comparison method, etc., this paper discusses the concept and connotation of cultural quality education, and analyses the relationship between the core competitiveness of college students and cultural quality education. Furthermore, this paper explores the status quo of cultural quality education and the underlying reasons of its problems in SWUFE. Finally, this paper puts forward strategies to innovate the model of cultural quality education in SWUFE.The structure of this paper is as follows:Part I introduces the background, purpose, significance, framework, main content, and methods of the research, as well as its innovation and inadequacies.Part II focuses on a theoretical review which analyses the research status of cultural quality education from three aspects, namely the connotation of the cultural quality education model, the relationship between cultural quality education and other education model, and the practice of cultural quality education.Part â…¢, beginning with talent cultivation plan, discusses the core competitiveness of students in SWUFE, including value orientation, professional quality, and the ability to understand and adapt to society.Focusing on the fundamental state of cultural quality education in SWUFE, Part IV discusses the basic ideas, organizational structure, subject, basic content, and form of cultural quality education.Part V analyzes the experience as well as the problems of the practice of cultural quality education in SWUFE.Part VI makes effort to put forward the strategies to innovate the model of cultural quality education in SWUFE. |
