Comparative Study Of Primary School Moral Education Between China And Britain

Moral education is an important part in the basic education system in our country. Themoral education of primary school is the priority of basic education. Good performance ofmoral education in elementary phase not only can improve personal moral integrity, but alsorefers to national development and rejuvenation. With the method of comparison, this articleanalyzes the moral education target, education content and education method in primaryeducation phase between China and Britain. It concluded enlightenment on moral educationof elementary school from the British for that of our country.Britain, as a typical representative of western education, has important influenceon modern education of European countries. The study on moral education of primaryschool in Britain has a vital function on reform&innovation of moral education inour country. This article starts from the history of moral education of the two countries firstly, comprehends and analyzes the moral education of the two countries in longitudinal way from the angle of historical development. On this basis, the current moraleducation courses of primary school between the two countries were compared and analyzed from three aspects as follows: education objective, education content, education method. The similarities and differences on moral education of primary school are summarized. The results of the comparison, on the one hand, is conducive to affirm and promote our achievements of moral education, on the other hand, also assist us to acknowledge our shortcomings, to learn and draw lessons from the successful experience of moral education of primary school. Combined with the reality of moral educationin our country, new concepts will be put forward to optimize the reform on moral education of primary school in China.
