Rural education, as an important part of Chinese basic education, is the keyto improve the quality of rural population, and to realize the overall improvementof quality of the Chinese population. With the advancing of the construction ofnew socialist countryside and a series of major policy, policy implementation,the problem of rural basic education has been widespreadly concerned, however,because of being affected by economic and social factors, China’s basic educationhas difference not only between regions and urban and rural areas, but also betweenthe schools in the school foundation, teachers and other related aspects. It isstill a difficult problem about the current basic education in poor rural area,aswell as a weak part of the basic education in china. Physical education in ruralareas, as the main part of education, has a profound and lasting effect on improvingstudents’ physical quality and enhancing the overall quality of the nation,especially in China, where the rural population accounts for a large population.Physical education should not be ignored in China.Guangxi, located in the southwest border of the motherland and borders on manycountries, is a multi-ethnic region, but because of the influence of geographicalenvironment, the economic development is relatively backward. Based on the currentdevelopment of physical education in the middle and primary schools in TiandongCounty, Guangxi, the thesis makes comprehensive analysis to find out the subjectiveand objective factors which are the constraints of rural physical educationdevelopment in poor areas in Guangxi (taking Tiandong County as an example), andputs forward the corresponding countermeasures to provide theoretical andpractical assistance for the development of the rural physical education in thearea, and for the better and faster coordinated development of physical educationof the rural schools in the poor areas in the west of China. Questionnaire is conducted by random sampling method to select32physicaleducation teachers and540pupils and students in12middle schools and6primaryschools. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) With the influence of the levelof economic development, the overall development level of the physical educationin the rural primary and middle schools in Tiandong County is relatively low.Serious shortage of sports education fund becomes the subjective factor, whichrestricts the development of school physical education in the region.(2) Althoughthe rate of giving the physical education class reaches the basic standard in theprimary and middle schools in Tiandong County, it still exists the phenomenon thatsome schools can not give the class. Affected by the traditional ideas of educationare the main factors.(3) In the rural primary and middle schools, Tiandong County,physical education teachers’ ages are constituted reasonably, and the academicaldegrees reach the standard, but the genders, and academical titles also have somedeficiency. In addition, the effect of the re-education training is not very good;it is short of physical education teachers; and the overall level need to beimproved.(4) Lacking of sports grounds and facilities and poor equipment in herural primary and middle schools, Tiandong County. Extracurricular sportsactivities and sports training only pay attention to a mere formality withoutenough scientific management and effective technical guidance. Affected by thethoughts of "safety first" and the unsound relevant legal and security system,the current situation of extracurricular sports activities is being worried.(5)In Tiandong County, the primary and middle schools’ degree of teachingstandardization and the use of syllabus become good obviously, but the single waysof teaching and evaluation patterns and the low rate of giving class accordingto the teaching plans makes the degree of sports curriculum standardization benot high and the teaching process exists randomness.(6) Tiandong County has theminority traditional sports resources, but the development efforts are limitedand it is not formed an effective and systematical physical education curriculumresources.According to problems appeared in the investigation about the rural sports teaching in Tiandong County, Guangxi, it puts forward corresponding suggestionsand countermeasures:(1) strengthen management, improve the management system,and reform the teaching system.(2) carrying out the measures simultaneously, andstrengthen the construction of physical education teachers from rural primary andmiddle schools.(3) full and effective use of resources, and strengthen thedevelopment and utilization of physical education traditional resources ofminority.(4) establish sound helping-built mechanism, strengthen infrastructureconstruction of rural physical education.(5) use the enhancement of moderninformation technology and increase the utilization rate and effect of physicaleducation teaching resource.(6) perfect the risk management mechanism of schoolsports safety, and reduce the risk of injury accident.(7) seize the developmentopportunity, and vigorously promote the physical education in rural schools inpoor areas of Guangxi.
